Overview
The Annapurna Base Camp trek is the ideal introduction to high-altitude Himalayan trekking. In 10–12 days you'll ascend through terraced fields, dense forests, and traditional Gurung villages into the Annapurna Sanctuary — a glacial basin completely surrounded by massive peaks including Annapurna I (26,545 ft), Machhapuchhre, and Hiunchuli. This route is shorter and less physically demanding than the Circuit, but the views from base camp at 13,550 feet are among the most dramatic in Nepal. A great fit for trekkers with limited time or those new to high-altitude travel.
