In The Company of Guides was founded in 2009 by IFMGA Mountain Guides Todd Passey and Tim Connelly, and AMGA Certified Guide Winslow Passey. We recognize the supreme importance of the client/guide relationship in creating a rewarding mountain experience.
The ITCOG Story
We chose our name because we recognize the supreme importance of the client/guide relationship in creating a rewarding and unique mountain experience. We enjoy getting to know the abilities and desires of each individual we take into the mountains.
A large percentage of our trips are with folks we have climbed and skied with for years. We've guided thousands of trips over the past two decades and maintain an impeccable safety record.
Our top priorities are always safety and fun. We know what alpine challenges are and how to overcome them. Most of all, we enjoy teaching and sharing our decision-making processes with the people we take into the mountains.

Todd Passey
Founder & Lead Guide
Todd Passey is a Utah native and the founder of In The Company of Guides. In 2009 he became only the 62nd American to earn the IFMGA certification — the highest credential in mountain guiding worldwide. With 20+ years of professional guiding across every continent, Todd has guided the Seven Summits including Everest ×2, Denali ×24, Mt. Vinson ×22, and Carstensz ×7. He has pioneered dozens of first ascents and descents in Antarctica, climbed classics like the Walker Spur on the Grand Jorasses, and spent countless seasons skiing the fjords of Norway and the steep lines of Valdez, Alaska. When he's not on expedition, Todd is exploring the backcountry of his beloved Wasatch Mountains with his wife Winslow — also a guide — and their son Bodhi.

Owner & AMGA Certified Ski Guide
Winslow is an AMGA-certified guide who brings infectious enthusiasm and deep backcountry expertise to every trip. Her ability to connect with clients and push them beyond their comfort zones while maintaining safety makes her trips unforgettable.
